An OMS Manager of Technology and Automation embodies the brand and philosophy of our company through their interactions with client leaders and in leading OMS teams. As a critical team lead, you will be accountable for achieving the following respective Client and Internal objectives which include (but are not limited to):


General Client Facing Role:

  • Working with client leaders and senior executives, usually at Vice President or C-level to identify their strategic business objectives.
  • Develop business strategies that meet or exceed client needs and represent the value OMS delivers in the market. A measurable result of successfully delivering on this will be a significant increase in sales of OMS Services with the clients you serve.
  • Ensure OMS delivers client services in timely, accurately and professional manner, consistent with our brand.
  • Build positive and productive relationships with clients.
  • Expand existing client base and generate leads that result in sales/extensions of OMS Services.
  • Act as primary contact for client leader inquiries and concerns.
  • Resolve client issues by empowering the OMS and client teams to implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Interview senior client representatives for feedback and recommend and oversee service improvements.


General Internal Role:

  • Work collaboratively with Directors and other Managers to mentor other consultants and strengthen client relationships.
  • Develop innovative approaches to improve client service efficiency.
  • Develop quality service programs to ensure client retention and develop new business opportunities.
  • Lead in preparing budgets, proposals and client presentations.
  • Support new product development and enhancement projects.
  • Direct less experienced staffs in their job responsibilities.




In addition to the above Client Facing and Internal roles, you will be accountable for delivering the following essential duties and responsibilities:

Client Facing Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent the OMS fundamentals and ensure adherence to the firm’s quality standards and that OMS teams deliver work product on time.
  • Direct client assignments part time or full time on larger projects. Communicate and deal with senior executives with clients, usually at Vice president or C-level or other stakeholders if needed.
  • Communicate with clients to manage expectations, lead change efforts and ensure satisfaction.
  • Lead, manage, develop and mentor staff to assess engagement performance and year-end reviews.
  • Handle proposals and business development calls regarding client.
  • Establish team objectives and drive performance improvements
  • Initiate and implement performance reviews, contract compliance reviews
  • Develop work plans and coordinate daily fieldwork and project team efforts.
  • Monitor client expectation scope on generated results’ delivery. Measure project progress, client benefits and budget expectation achievement through tracking tools.
  • Offer project management on contract compliance services and internal control reviews
  • Gather data, analyze, interpret and formulate conclusions and suggestions.
  • Handle data analysis, interpretation and process design interviews for clients.
  • Develop solutions for complex client situations to meet goals and objectives.
  • Account for time, invoice, and expense on a monthly basis.


Internal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead change efforts and execute on assigned internal responsibilities and ensure satisfaction.
  • Lead, manage, develop, and mentor staff to assess engagement performance and year-end reviews.
  • Ownership the overall responsibility of the project management, management of junior team, analysts and consultants.
  • Dedicate at least 20% of time to Business development (identify, prioritize, connect, close, and identify), all other internal company affairs and responsibilities.
  • Identify and communicate internal process improvement opportunities in a constructive manner.
  • Participate in recruiting, screening candidates, informal meeting with candidates, interviewing
  • Initiate and implement performance reviews, contract compliance reviews
  • Attend and present at conferences and promote the brand.
  • Market OMS’s services to new/existing clients, develop white papers about industries.
  • As required, write and coordinate proposals and participate in sales meetings.




As an OMS Manager you must possess the following qualifications:


Must possess detailed knowledge of mine technology, autonomous mining, mine planning process, mine operations and business planning.


Must possess proficiency in two mine planning software packages, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Powerpoint, Word). Desirable skills include Minitab, Tableau and Microsoft SQL.



Minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mining Engineering with a minimum of 15 year(s) of experience is required.  However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration. Experience is Mine Operations roles is highly desirable as part of overall professional experience.




As an OMS Manager you are required to possess the following language skills:


  • Ability to read and interpret complex business and/or technical documents.
  • Ability to write comprehensive reports and detailed business correspondence.
  • Ability to work with groups of people such as other departments and communicate known concepts.
  • Ability to present to a group of departments.




As an OMS Manager you are required to possess a high level of intellectual ability, including:


  • Ability to solve problems with a variety of concrete variables through semi-standardized solutions that require ingenuity and analytical skills.
  • Ability to draw inferences and follow prescribed and detailed procedures to solve complex problems.




The physical demands and representative environmental characteristics of the work environment associated with the position are as follows:


  • Ability to meet the demands of frequent travel to remote locations
  • Variable work environments including arctic, desert, high altitude and tropical environments.
  • Regular Camp accommodation.
  • Ability to meet the rigors of a combination of field work and site office work
